Renewing Vows in a simple way

Love is in the air...: Love in Action
flowers that heal a broken heart
Renewing vows through flowers

The little girl, beaming with a big smile run excitedly to her mother, announcing the news that new buds of roses are beginning to show their colors. A week ago, most of my roses looks unhealthy and dead, the time when I needed them most - flowers for my anniversary. It was not easy trying to figure out how to arrange the roses that were almost ready to say goodbye but it was exciting to see that face of an angel announcing the new rose buds coming up, like love, renewed and restored to it's beginning.

Love is exciting, especially in the first few years of marriage. As time goes by, we started drifting apart, busy and preoccupied with the hustle and bustle of life. At times, we even forget to stop and say "I LOVE YOU" to our loved ones.

The wife feeling neglected, wished to get out of the marriage wrote her husband a letter saying " Maybe we were not meant to be, so here is your ring and you are free to put it on whomever you chooses. The ring attached to the letter with a thread."

The letter laid on his pillow early morning, making sure he will see it during his afternoon naps. Surely enough, he read it. Immediately, he went in search for his wife to return the ring and apologized. The wife, sensing he was serious, instructed him to put it back on. He obliged, with a kiss so sweet, said to her how much he loved her and feel so sorry to hurt her feelings. The wife felt so loved, she forgave him.

That day was no special in terms of decorations and witnesses. No "I DO". No elegant dress, fancy dining and quiet too. They were home. Just being home with each other. Nothing else matter. But it was enough to renew their vows, becoming better half' and change for a better tomorrow as a couple, a family.

There is always a time when marriages seem to fail your needs and it is a good idea to look back and remind yourself of the vows made during the wedding ceremony. When you read the lines, it will help you stay hold of the marriage and move forward with more experience...

The Marriage Creed

Comfort each other - provide refuge for each other from the chill winds of the world. Your marriage is a hearth, from whence comes the peace, harmony and warmth of the spirit and soul.

Caress are you would be caressed - warm your love one's body with your healing touch. Remember that as babies can die with lack of touching, so can marriages wither from lack of closeness.

Be a friend and a partner, treat friendship like a peaceful island, separate and apart, yet reflect upon the tranquility of the many future years you can share with a friend and as partners in life. And beware of becoming a battling enemies under the same roof.

Be open with each other, trust and reveal yourselves to each other, even as the budding rose opens to reveal it's fragrance and beauty.

Listen to each other and hear not only words but also the non- language of time, mood and expression. Learn to listen to understand rather than listening to argue.

Respect each others rights - remember that each person of flesh and blood, entitled to his or her won choices and mistakes. Each owns themselves, and the right to equality.

Allow the other to be individual by seeking not to create for each other a new mold that can only fit with much discomfort and pain. Accept the other as they are as you have yourself accepted.

Give each other approval by remembering that criticism divides while compliments encourage confidence in the other. Hasten not to point out the others mistakes, for each will soon discover his own.

Cherish your union - let no one come between your togetherness, not child, not friend, nor worldly goods. Yet , maintain enough separateness to allow each other to his or her own unique oneness.

Love one another - love is your river of life. Your eternal source of recreating yourselves. Above all else - Love One Another.
