Love is in the air...:
Love in Action
Category: It's all about love
It was for a reason we decided to get a dog after so many years of a pet's absence. The funny thing is that when we went to the animal shelter, this particular dog joined the rest of the animal shelter's residents after her owner died 4 days ago. It was a destiny.
The animal shelter will close at 3:30 in the afternoon. We made a plan to leave at 2:30, giving us an hour to browse the shelter and hopefully find one that suits our family. It was our first experience to visit an animal shelter, giving us not much expectations. The first door with 6 dogs in separate cells were noisy and I was a little scared to even get close for fear of being attacked. Nobody knows what a dog is thinking when in a tiny cell, no freedom to roam around.
After checking a few group of cells, taking notes on some dogs when my husband started feeling sick with the smell and decided to quit. There was one dog who stood out among the few ones we selected. It was Bo. She was well trained and a happy dog.
We found out while checking with the shelter's personnel that Bo's owner died and she was taken by the shelter after. The first moment we met with Bo was a match! She loves being petted. She didn't bark, just happy to meet us. We feel at ease with her and see her feel the same way. We are made for each other!
The first week Bo came home, we put her on a leash, an easy get away leash if Bo decided to get out of the leash. Anyway, she was very obedient, never did shake off the leash to run away. Like I mentioned earlier, no one really knows what a dog thinks and our short ordeal happen in the most unexpected day.
We were busy doing household stuff when mother noticed Bo is gone! For the first time, we can not find her. We called her name, a thousand times, asking her to come back but no sign of her. We went around the house hoping to see her but no sound of her. We searched everywhere, unto the street and side canal if she had run to that direction and sadly, there was no trace of her. As we were losing our hope, Bo came back with a wagging tail and happy to be back, as if to acknowledge us as her owner! She was wet and panting to the best she can ( must have ran for an hour). I wonder where she went and how far she ran, what she discovered while gone... I shrugged those thoughts away and hug Bo. She's back and that matters the most!
Until now, we do not know what happen to her that day but we are just happy that Bo came back to us, a proof of love, that we are her family from now on.
Bo is a wonderful dog!
